A Little Winston Getaway

Nestled between the Blue Ridge Mountains and the Atlantic coast is good ole Winston-Salem, North Carolina. I grew up just on the outskirts of Winston in Clemmons.

Winston-Salem is full of rich history & charm. There are heirloom estates, historic properties, gardens & museums that are a must-see if you find yourself in Winston for the weekend.

He and his wife, Nathalie, purchased 87 acres of land from the Reynolds family and built the Manor House in 1928. Graylyn is the second-largest private home in North Carolina to date. Old Salem

Moravian immigrants settled in the town of Salem in 1776. Winston, the neighboring town, merged with Salem in 1916 to consolidate into the city we know now as Winston-Salem. In the 1950s, Salem was restored by volunteers & Old Salem was established, making the town a national historic landmark. The attraction’s museums & galleries share the cultural history of the early South–with special emphasis on the Moravians in North Carolina.
